Manila March 10 United States troops fought a fierce two day battle against Moro outlaws entrenched in a volcanic crater near Jolo 2100 feet high Mount Dato. Eighteen Americans were killed and fifty two wounded while 600 Moros were slain in the crater with artillery lifted by block and tackle to the crater lip.

Auto and Street Car Crash Injures Marion Residents

Tolla death sentence commuted to seven years in prison

Trenton March 10 The Bergen county murderer Antoinette Tolla will not be hanged for killing Joseph Sonfa. The New Jersey court of pardons commuted her death sentence to seven and a half years imprisonment by a 6 to 2 vote. The case featured a revolver taken from Santa’s clothing after Sonfa was shot, and marks the court’s first such commutation away from life imprisonment.
