District court today refused the injunction in the Teeter versus Sibert et al. case. The judge found the evidence conflicting and not substantial to prove a nuisance at the Irving house block saloon. Costs were charged to Blackhawk county.

Frank Kido, a north en fruit dealer, has rented the Will Kurth building on upper East Fourth Street opposite the round house. He plans to move his fruit shop into the new location as soon as fit out. The store will offer more than twice the current space and aim to be the district’s best fruit house. Kido formerly worked in the Illinois Central shops and has many railroaders as friends who welcome the expansion.
The Muscatine Gazette relays details on Frank Jackson, known in Waterloo and Muscatine, who forged checks for Randlemay Bros and died by own hand while under arrest in Waterloo. Witness Mrs Durkee recalls Jackson as quiet, melancholic, with threats of self harm and multiple talks about suicide over two years.
J W Dworak of Wauzeka Wisconsin reported to Supervisor O P Vaughan that in the last month he captured fifty six rattlesnakes. He displayed the snakes and rattles in the village on May 1. The work earned him good wages and served safety for people and animals near Plum Creek. He reportedly spent a day in one den at the Desnan Farm collecting rattlers.

Springfield dispatch reports Mayor Griffiths of the city drowned this afternoon while attempting to ford a stream on horseback near the city. The incident occurred during a period of rising waters and was witnessed by bystanders. An investigation is expected to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.

Mrs. H L Faase dies at age 65 after a long illness from cancer of the stomach at her son Henry Fasse's home. Born April 21 1842 in Antendorf Germany she married Henry Fasse in 1863 and had five children. The family moved from Bremer county to Denver then back to the farm near Maxfield township. Funeral services were led by Rev Bredow at Henry Fasse’s home and Denver Lutheran church with interment at the Lutheran cemetery.
Funeral services for infant Claytond Leon Marquis were held Monday afternoon at 2 20 at Logan Avenue United Evangelical Church with Reverend C Hi Stauffacher officiating. The infant was the son of Marquis.
