Marshall Alderman Guilty Of Giving Liquor To Prisoners

Alderman Franklin Starkey of Battle Creek is convicted by a circuit court jury in Marshall Michigan of giving liquor to prisoners at the county jail last February. Columbus Ohio December 27 Admiral M T Maalott chief of the bureau of yards and docks and a Panama canal commissioner told a Christians visitor he expects the canal to be in full operation before he dies. He declined to say if the canal will be sea level or lock type noting differences in entrance depths and a funnel shaped coast formation that could affect tides and water flow at the eastern and western termini.
