A local pastor in Eldora condemns a September 30 anonymous chain letter claiming to be religious. It demands daily prayer, threatens misfortune for nonparticipants and joy for supporters, and requests recipients to recruit nine others. The scheme, labor intensive and costly, is illegal, per the post office prohibition, and denounced as perverted worship and vain repetition.

Grand Jury to Rule Friday on Dickinson Case Indictments

Grand jury has obtained evidence in the Eldora Dickinson death probe. Drs Parker and Scott testified on Irene Blydenburgh’s autopsy and denied testified disease. two indictments may be reported Friday though three true bills possible. Nurse Miss Mery’s evidence was secured on a farm near Indianola. County Attorney Miller also gathered testimony from Dr N C Morse of Eldora.
