Pasadena woman Mrs Joy 38 died after surgical illness. She leaves husband and a 16 year old daughter, parents and four brothers Bert Claire Fred and Tom, plus many friends. Interment was in California. The notice notes years of suffering ended in a night and includes an advertisement for Deans Ointment for piles.
In Des Moines Iowa the Register and Leader notes a plea to support Mrs Wisworth of Eldora now penniless in old age. A democrat urges readers to send one dollar each to the paper to aid the lady and forward contributions via Ellis D Robb at Hardin county bank. Includes brief notices on local school changes and obliquely on community life.
Shultz renewed acquaintances in town. A M Merrill owns Wm Baldwin house in East Alden. Marion Haines and wife came from Webster City. J S Kersey and wife visited A Lemoines. Dr and Mrs Frisbie and Charlie visiting in Dakota. Mrs Dr Lewis back from New Hampton. Mrs Bashford died at home west of town. Merrill family settled in new house. New corn entering market sound and better yield. Mrs Joseph Fisher stays in Alden as children recover from chicken pox. Old M B church moved to mill for storehouse use.
The New Providence community arranged a course of Shakespeare lectures for 1903 04 by Paul William Mavity in the academy building. Topics include Shakespeare the Man on Nov 24 Julius Caesar on Dec 17 Hamlet on Jan 18 King Lear on Jan 30 The Tempest on Feb. The note also mentions a claim about diphtheria relief in twenty minutes by Dr Thom Kelectric Ol Albany drug store.
Mrs. Platt McConell is ill. G. W. Fowler and family visited at eight. Mills' Sunday. M. Riley and wife welcome a new baby girl. L. Pickering captured three opois sums in their hen house. A new barn is being built on the C. Q. Nestlerode farm where Frank Trout lived.
