Answering the summons H C Sweet dies in this city
H C Sweet an old respected citizen of the city died at his home after a long illness born near Alton Illinois in 1827 he married Hannah Whalley and later a second wife in Tidora Iowa he served on the city council and board of education was a temperance advocate and active Mason his faith strengthened by his Congregational church membership since 1876 and steady pastoral visits in his final months.

Gracious will of his Heavenly Father sustained him as he entered rest. T. C. Sweet passed away Tuesday evening, May 10, 1904, aged 77 years, 1 month, 1 day. Funeral held at the Sweet home in the first ward Thursday at 3 PM conducted by Rev. C. C. Warner.

Timely fishery rules and a minister’s departure
A local notice lists fishing restrictions from November 14 to May 15 forbidding bass pike pickerel crappies or catfish catches. Nets spears traps are banned at all times.
