Whiteds Celebrate Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary

FIELD MEET IN ELDOra MAY 116TH AT HIGH SCHOOL FIELD

Eldora hosts Wardin County High School field meet next Saturday with many events and prizes. Industrial school band will play, local committees organizing a grand day, weather permitting a large crowd is expected. A basketball game between two girls’ teams adds local interest.

Dedication of Carnegie free library May 11 1903

The city prepares for the dedication of the Carnegie free library on Monday May 11 1903 with Governor Cummins and state librarian Johnson Brigham as guests. A full day of events includes a flag presentation by BE BC Buckner Post G A R a library tour and a children’s hour from four to six. An eight o clock evening program is planned and a reception at the library will follow.

Thirteen Hours Adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament

St Marys Catholic church to host thirteen hours of adoration starting Tuesday May 12 at 10 am. Solemn High Mass with Rev Dean Lenehan of Marshalltown as celebrant. Public devotion continues all day Tuesday with rosary sermon by Rev Nicholls. Wednesday features multiple masses and a final high Mass with sermon by Fr Sleater. Rev W J Convery invites both Catholic and non Catholic worshippers.
