Eldora baseball enthusiasts schedule a four night bazaar and dance March 17 to 20 at Maccabee hall to raise funds for the newly formed team. Mrs Josie Wallace seeks a writ of habeas corpus in Polk county district court alleging that Superintendent W H Slingerland of the Iowa Children's Home Des Moines took her children without due process and that her eldest son Roy Huff has had wages seized for his employer while Slingerland benefits. She says the children face harmful influences. Slingerland, once Eldora Methodist pastor, has run the Des Moines home for nearly twenty years aiding hundreds of children.
