The Wisner Opera House hosted the June 1 1905 graduation for Seventeen graduates led by Judge M J Wade whose address The Reign of Law stressed obedience to law. Names and titles include Hazel Bateson The New Woman, Josephine Gilman The Man at the Wheel, Earl Borgack Arbitration versus War, Bessie Blackmun Making of Men, The Battle of Marathon, Singleness of Purpose, and Truth to Speak. Decoration day open air concert and local events
Hubbard hosted an open air concert on Decoration Day. A Hubbard band member traveled the Iowa Falls shortline to Des Moines for last week's State field meet. Jas Wintermute is laying a new cement sidewalk on Main Street. Memorial exercises drew a large crowd with Rev. G F Barsalau and Rev. P Hoeppner as principal speakers. The Hubbard Horse Co injunction suit, tried last year, is again filed and will seek a temporary injunction this Thursday before Judge Whitaker at Marshalltown, drawing local interest.
