Mrs Blydenburgh wife of E S Blydenburgh died Friday after a short illness. The obituary notes her husband and references their family status and local ties. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Blydenburgh household.
Mrs Jennie Blydenburgh 50 died Friday evening from arenic convulsions at her Fourth ward home after eight months in the city with her husband BE Bl ydenburgh who had come from Ohio. He left Saturday for Archibald Ohio with the remains for interment in her old home cemetery. The Herald offers sympathy to the bereaved husband.

Rev J F Black of the First M E Church Eldora is praised as a faithful pastor and zealous reformer. He helped organize the Hardin County Anti Saloon League and served as its secretary, delivering many countywide addresses to rally support for moral uplift. Also promoted is Kodol Dyspepsia Cure by Smith and Reed.
The Eldora Mutual Telephone Company held its annual meeting on Monday evening choosing a new directory: Thos. Larson, H. A. Hull, D. Wills, N. BR. Van Avery, C. L. Hays, A. S. Howell, Chas. Moser. The secretary will collect rents and duties for 35.00 monthly. Rentals and dues total about 190.00 monthly with expenses near 135.00, leaving a net income to meet obligations and reduce debt. The affairs appear prosperous and a subsequent meeting will elect officers.
An old advertisement asserts Kodol Dyspepsia Cure heals stomach issues and supports health through nourishment. It claims appetite loss, weakness, headaches, and indigestion are cured, with Smith & Reed selling the product.

Memorial day observances in Sidora proceeded despite rain with a large audience at the Wisner Opera House. Hon. W J Moir chaired, Rev J Black gave a prayer, and Miss Lucy Kuehne and the Eldora band performed. Dr Elijah Jones of Marshalltown delivered an address on the American Volunteer, followed by a procession to the cemetery for graves decoration by G A R members and volunteers.
For week ending June 1 1903 the state faced below normal temperatures and daily heavy showers. Severe windstorms damaged trees, windmills, and light structures while floods caused unprecedented crop losses and likely abandonment of low land. Dry warm weather is needed to allow upland crops and the cereal acreage to recover. Davis and Moser advertise the best screens and screen doors in regular sizes.
The Marshalltown Fish Protective association plans a day trip on Tuesday June 9 via the Iowa Central to Steamboat Rock. Invitations extend to all willing participants with various sports and prizes planned. The train departs Marshalltown at o oclock in the morning and returns at the crowd’s convenience.

The Nickel Plate Road advertises three through daily express trains with vestibuled sleeping cars and American Club meals in Nickel Plate dining cars at prices from 45c to $1. It promises service equal to any between Chicago and the East, with ticket offices at Chicago depot Harrison St and Fifth Ave and 111 Adams St. John Y Calahan is listed as general agent at 113 Adams St room 208 Chicago.
The Republican primary in Providence Township is set for Saturday June 6 from 2 to 7 pm. County officers and delegates to the county convention will be nominated as per county committee call, plus a township trustee and a township committeeman to be elected. A F Styles listed as Township Committeeman.
