J O Branson sold his farm to J H Bales and several residents, including Mrs Lizzie Hunt and Mrs Malinda Hunt with relatives, are building or visiting locally. Rev R R Newby preached nearby while Prof Styles and daughters travel to St Louis for the exposition. A catalog of everyday moves, visits, and a few business notices conclude with local services and product ads.
Fire at Clancy's blacksmith shop in Hubbard Sunday night ruined the shop and its equipment, estimated at 2500 dollars with no insurance. Tel Boylan's wagon shop burned, costing about 1000 dollars with 150 dollars insured. Perkins building also suffered damage. Fire department credit noted for preventing greater loss.
