Iowa Falls Market Days Report Mixed Deficit and School Absences
Market days at Iowa Falls last week were successful though a small deficit was expected. Board members checked Clerk Meader and Auditor Newcomer books. they were found OK. Many pupils out due to a measles epidemic. cases are widespread among children. The Iowa Falls Gas Co seeks a franchise to use streets and alleys for a gas system for heating and fighting fires. A new year is a good time to consider an accident policy, promoting the most desirable contract.

Old Citizen Daniel Scheller Dies in Melrose Township
Daniel Scheller aged over 80 died at his home in Melrose township Grundy county on Monday evening. A respected farmer, he lived on the same farm for many years and was a member of Dunkard church. He was buried from the church in Melrose township on Wednesday.
