Penns Brother Killed in North Skunk Water Bank Collision
Conductor Charles Bargdell and brakeman 1.0. Penn, both of Osage City, were killed in a rear end freight collision at the North Skunk water bank three miles north of New Sharon, near Moore, at 2:26 this morning. Nehring’s engine Nos. 03 and 05 collided with Bargdell’s train. Penn’s brother from Eldora survived with minor injuries. Bargdell’s and Penn’s families reside in Osceola and Gifford respectively.

Walton longtime Hardin County resident dies at 86
