Not guilty in Steamboat Rock butcher lumpy jaw case

Rock Island Introduces Motor Car Service Between Iowa Falls and Vinton
The Rock Island road inaugurated the first motor car service on a steam pad in Iowa with a suburban run between Iowa Falls and Vinton. Built by General Electric, the gasoline electric car seats about fifty and features a motor room smoking space and passenger coach. The car, tested last week, reached 53 miles per hour on the Iowa Falls to Robertson stretch and will operate daily with 5:30 am departures from Iowa Falls to connect with the Cedar Rapids bound morning train and return by 8:40 pm arrival.

Big barn burns on George Lane Farm near Gifford
Lightning struck the cattle and hay barn at the George Lane Farm near Gifford around 5 30 a m Sunday. Tenant Ta 9 Chilton had just left the barn moments earlier. Smoke belched from the barn and the fire destroyed about thirty tons of hay and the unfinished structure valued at 1500 to 1800 dollars with 500 dollars in insurance. The farm sale to Thomas Megan had been signed days before.
