Daniel Lawler a Cedar Rapids area farmer and timber dealer filed a bankruptcy petition before referee N S Carpenter. Liabilities are about 18000 and assets about 17000 with over a hundred creditors. Major creditors include his mother and brothers, plus Eldora banks.
Rede WomevierZ reports Albert Foster died at age 46 after a two week illness. He had recently been active but died suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving a wife long deceased and a son in California. Funeral at 2 PM today at Mr Haydén’s home in First ward with interment in Eldora cemetery beside his wife. Dr B E Purcell limited to ENT at Emergency hospital note included.

Mr. Groner returns from St Ansar. R Hartinger visits Cedar Rapids with wife. The red gasoline cans prompt jokes about Minnesota law. Editor Furry and family leave camp life for town. Mrs Button’s Sunday School class is soaked by rain. baskets empty, a late supper in the basement.

Tuesday morning saw the grand jury sworn in and assigned to duties. The docket was set and the first case to trial was Taylor vs Crockett.
