Northwestern Settles Dugan Ditch Controversy with Railway
The Board of Supervisors reached an agreement with the Northwest ern railway to settle the Dugan ditch dispute. The railway will pay damages awarded, withdraw its supreme court suit and other cases, and allow a bridge crossing on its right of way between Owasa and Iona Fuller. A bridge was completed Sunday. A county line bridges committee, with August Neuman, reviewed costs to be shared by Hardin and Grundy counties.

Terrible accident on M Donald Hill claims Lewis Whiting
A fatal crash occurred Saturday on the hill east of Eldora as Lewis Whiting died instantly after his load of corn was displaced by runaway horses. His son Lyman was nearby. the team halted near the bridge. The incident, near Eldora, shocked the community. Whiting leaves a widow and five children. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Congregational church with burial in Buckner cemetery.
