M J Davis visits Des Moines for several days while Tommy VWunt a dentistry student from Iowa City is home briefly. Mrs Christianson buys Charley Wesenberg property and plans to move this spring. Hugh Laird returns from Colorado not as well as hoped. Mrs Trodges visits from Iowa Falls to see Mrs Lizzie Whitney. J Hoskins and wife return home from Chicago as does Mrs If from Sioux City. Post office upgrades include a new metal ceiling and improved paint and paper. The Strings family moves to Alden from Parkersburg and plans permanence. spring tonics urged for cleansing kidneys and liver.
The sick are on the mend with Maude Hubbard recovering from pink eye. Attendees from here joined the Hubbard sale on Saturday. Henry Rankin and family visited Frank Trout's Sunday. Rev Ramige preached his farewell sermon at Lawn Hill Sunday. Dan Penny and wife visit friends in Hubbard this week. School started Monday with Miss Blanche Walton as teacher and Tiarvey Patterson called at Joe Hubbard's Sunday evening.
The senior class selected Himerelda as the school play for the term. A blue pennant with maize letters 04 hung on the flagstaff and many attended the Saturday lectures by Supt. Crane and an educational meeting. The executive committee of the BE I SA Ay confirmed the third annual fight meet for May 28. Dr G A Stewart, dentist, is listed nearby.
