The Grand Setting of the Knights of Pythias and Order of Calanthe runs from July 16 through July 21. The event promises ceremonial pageantry and fraternal activities.
During the past week presiding elders Abbott and Smith called at our Sacrum area, meeting with local congregations and noting church activities. Their visit highlighted ongoing community outreach and spiritual guidance.
The Springfield District Green County Colored Institute in Missouri, serving fourteen southwest counties, closed a successful session with twenty six teachers and conductor B W Adams reporting strong interest. Resolutions thank church pastors, city officials, and white school leaders for lectures, hospitality, and publication of resolutions to papers and journals.

Rev Brown preached at the C M E church to a well filled house. Mrs Maria Herndon is High Priestess and H Washington Chief Mentor Rev Bolden spoke in the city on the 28th. Mrs K B Miller is very ill. Rev Bohannon was away on business last week.
