Grand Classical Concert at Sedalia Theatre May 27

A grand classical concert given at Sedalia Theatre on Monday evening May 27 features Misses Minniolia and Violetta W. Jackson with local talent. The program includes Nearer My God to Thee, Invocations, songs, piano solos, a chorus, and works by Rossini and Leybach among others. Great Mass Meeting Called in Missouri Protest

A February 13 1907 mass gathering in Jefferson City drew fifty delegates from ten counties and cities to oppose a separate car law. The group urged organized public opinion to protect Negro civil and political rights and invited a solemn convocation to consider permanent statewide organization.

Constitution League backs defense of Black Battalion

Boston Mass April 1907 The Constitution League of the United States endorses the Soldiers' Defense Fund Massachusetts committee urging funds to defend the Black Battalion's constitutional rights. The appeal asks racial organizations churches and editors to support the effort and forms committees to raise money for the cause.
