Greenridge September 26. A boy named Ray Wareham was critically wounded on the public school grounds when Jay Carr, playing with a sharp knife during an Indian game, accidentally stabbed him in the bowels. Dr. Claybaugh planned an operation as the only hope for the boy's life.
Springfield reports C. A. Cline traveling photographer, once thought to have died by his own hand in Monett, married in the city last night under the name Clyne. His bride is Rose M. Forsythe, a cook at the St. James hotel.
Odell a Missouri Pacific commercial agent hosted Sedalia figures W H Powell and Dr W J Ferguson in Joplin. Powell, Elks leader and president of the Sedalia Missouri Valley baseball league club, praised the Valley league and planned to be stronger next year.
The W. E. Bard Drug Co announces the celebrated Hud nut line of perfumes as the finest quality offered in Sedalia, promising superior fragrance and value to local customers.
Don Vandine, star third baseman for Sedalia, has filed for a license to marry Minnie Hatfield of Syracuse Mo. Minnie is under 18, parental consent has been sent and is expected tomorrow. The marriage is planned for Monday with warm congratulations from The Sentinel.
Reverend J L Ellis of Willow Springs will preach at the Second Congregational Church on Sunday with morning and evening services. Communion will be observed in the morning and all are cordially invited.
M Doherty of Henry County Missouri sold 39 steers averaging 1150 pounds at 6.30 per hundred pounds in a St. Louis market report.
T L Elberts of Henry county sold 16 steers averaging 1,237 pounds at 6.15 per hundredweight. A M Guthrie of Saline county moved 22 steers averaging 1,025 pounds to Nelson Morris and Co at 7.15 per hundredweight.
At Georgetown a rousing meeting will be held by the Democratic candidates on Saturday night.
The Lowell Windmill Manufacturing Company of Salina desires a new location due to rapid growth. The firm reports a weekly shop payroll of $130 and a growing staff with three traveling representatives and a sizable office force, expecting to double the total workforce soon.
W H Moss a carpenter fell sixteen feet from a scaffold at the Ross residence on East Seventh street around 10 this morning. He suffered severe neck and shoulder injuries and a back sprain. Moss was taken to his home at corner Sixteenth and Vermont streets in a carriage with Dr A H Heaton in attendance.
In Judge Kinsey's court Abbie Smith was fined 1 dollar and costs for disturbing the peace of Mrs Ed Gravitt. Ed Gravitt and Tom Emmett faced continued cases for disturbing the peace until Monday at 9 a.m. A change of venue was taken from Kinsey's court. Tom Ireland’s case was continued until tomorrow.
Postmaster J M Glenn has ordered four handsome new rural free delivery wagons for the upcoming service. They will be ready for the inauguration next Wednesday. Carriers have accepted and are filing bonds this week with Kelk and Keens.
Cal Berry deputy U S marshal at Antlers Indian Territory is in town on his way home from Washington D C. Berry is credited with locating J M Cannon and reuniting him with his hunting party after his disappearance in the Seven Devils mountains area.
Mrs H C Doolittle hosted the Girls Friendly Society at her home 401 East Seventh Street from 3 to 6 this afternoon. Mrs Doolittle was assisted by Mrs Robert Taylor and W H Graftis. Refreshments were served.
G N Boutelle rushed to Kansas City after a telegram reported his sister in law Mrs Minnie E Boutelle dying. The note indicates a family emergency with the brother in law traveling to join relatives at the point of death.
Concordia will hold its street fair on October 16 17 and 18 with local vendors food stalls and entertainment announced for the event. City organizers urge residents to mark the dates and visit downtown streets for live music contests and activities.
Rev James Madison leads morning prayer as the Missouri conference of the African Methodist Episcopal church convenes. Discussions range from sermons and borrowed thunder to church property in South Africa and missionary funding.

Morris Maupin, once second miller at Harter Mills in Sedalia, chased a bear devouring a pig through Arkansas cane brakes. He dragged the bear to a train locker and carried it to headquarters, later suffered injuries in a wreck with three broken ribs and a cracked skull, and has since recovered to work as a telephone lineman in Arkansas.
Joe Riley son of W. J. Riley fell from the second story of Ed Hurleys barn while at play. He sustained a severe hip injury but is improving under Dr. Overstreet care.
Mrs Ann Jones of Lamonte, living with sister Mrs Maggie Divers, was today adjudged insane by the county court. She has previously stayed in the asylum and will be taken to Nevada tonight by Deputy Sheriff Bud Dillard.
St Louis telegraph ed Sedalia correspondent reports S E Burton found dead at La Clede Hotel in Sedalia. Authorities ask if he had troubles leading to suicide. no such person listed at Sedalia post office or local directory. Police investigation under way. believed man once lived at Windsor or Clinton.
Sedalia's management spent the day paying players. All except Charles Barrett and Lawrence Milton have been reserved for next season. Those reserved include Harry Gross, Henry Ford, Frank Burson, Paul Curtis, Lawson, Don Vandine, William White, Richard Rohn, George Allen, and John Schrant.
Expert machinist A. E. Stone is in Sedalia overseeing repairs at the Loeffler-Guenther Shoe factory. He believes the city can attract new shoemaking work as major factories prepare to move out of the Jefferson City state penitentiary.
The Aceme Fraternal Union will move its headquarters from Sedalia to St. Louis on Monday October 1. The order will receive $6 000 for the move and will have offices in the Missouri Trust Company building. Supreme secretary H C Doolittle has guided the group since its start and will be missed locally while his family remains in Sedalia through spring to finish school.
The local union will hold a banquet at First Christian Church this evening for all Endeavorers of the city. To be followed by toasts from presidents of city societies and other leaders, the event serves as preparation for the state convention in October 23 26.
A petition circulated among county taxpayers seeks to abolish the six mile road district to relieve property owners from the added tax. The effort has gathered nearly 200 signatures.
A. J. White of Nicholson and White slipped from a box at his store yesterday evening and sprained his right ankle quite severely. He will be laid up at his home for some time.
In police court this morning Dora Hubbard Susie Payne and Mary Starks all colored were arrested last night for late hours and fined five dollars each which they paid.

A Lexington robbery occurred Thursday at the home of Mr. Wm. Aull while the family watched a show parade. The thief took about 300 dollars in jewelry including a gold watch bracelets diamond studs and pins.
