Ex Governor Norman J. Coleman praises the Missouri State fair as highly educational and largely successful. He notes strong attendance, valuable exhibits, and plans for future expansions including a fruit hall poultry building art hall textile fabrics hall and grandstand. He urges liberal funding and confirms prompt premium payments.
Hon Matt Hall of Saline County attends the State fair and commends the Board of Agriculture for using the 50 000 budget wisely. He praises the exhibits and hogs while noting objections to beer and pool selling were avoided as a prudent policy.

Thomas Shirley was arrested this morning for petit larceny after C C Williams left him in charge of the Arden store on West Main street. It is stated he sold goods amounting to eighty five cents and spent it on drink. Judge Kinsey fined Shirley one dollar and costs.

Archias seed store of Sedalia won first premium for Pettis County's county display with over 200 entries. Despite a severe drought, the exhibit showcased garden and farm products grown from Archias seeds, drawing wide visitor interest at the agricultural department. Archias Seed Store offered special prizes on products grown from their seeds.
The Lyceum Stock company returns to stage Marguerite or Friendship after a well received performance of For Her Sake. A packed house praised the evening of high class entertainment with new features each night and a 10 cent matinee Saturday afternoon.
John H. Carson, associated with Esaw the snake eater in the Midway, was arrested today for stealing a coat and vest, a razor, and a strap from V. Webster.
The Rev E E Barclay Ph D assistant superintendent of the Missouri anti saloon league will preach at First M E Church Sunday at 11 o clock in support of the Anti saloon league giving a sermon on temperance and prohibition.
Mrs. Ella Ming Durley wife of Lon H. Durley and a Pettis County leader, died Thursday at home four miles east of Hughesville after a three week illness. She leaves husband and five children Susie Sallie Edgar Bessie Sidney, all at home. Funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday from Hughesville Presbyterian Church.
H Allison of Bunceton was attending the fair on Friday, seen among local visitors and residents enjoying exhibits and entertainment at the event.
