Successful Labor Celebration Marks a Grand Day in Sedalia

Bedalia’s Labor Day celebration on Monday drew a huge crowd for a parade to Liberty Park and an afternoon program. Mayor Babcock delivered an address, Prosecutor Cashman spoke, and sports including a 100 yards dash and fat man race entertained attendees. The tug of war between Katy and Pacific shops, bike and egg races, and a closely played ball game capped the day, with a large evening ball at Liberty Park Hall and performances by the Second Regiment band.

The drama Two Flags based on Paul M. Potter’s novel comes to the opera house on Thursday September 4. The production, same as New York run for ten months, showcases stirring incidents against grand stage backgrounds. A special train and a car of horses accompany the troupe. More than 100 participants are involved in the performance.
