Miss Bettie Wooldridge a society belle of Versailles Kentucky died at her home after an attempted suicide by carbolic acid during a severe melancholic spell. Born in Sedalia she was connected to prominent Pettis county families and her father John Major Wooldridge long lived on the DD H Smith farm northwest of town.
