The Lamonte Record reports Conway merchants and business men provide rooms with chairs tables mirrors and conveniences for lady visitors and shoppers in our city free of cost. A matron is in charge ensuring guests feel at home in these parlors. The note praises the effort to accommodate women during their city visit.
Mrs Rebecca Ewers died suddenly at 9 PM from heart paralysis at the home of her daughter near Dresden. An 82 year old resident of Pettis County for over 45 years she was the mother of eight, with six sons and daughters nearby. Funeral is set for 10 o clock Tuesday morning at the Dresden M E Church.
A new ladies waiting room and convenient compartments have been established in the rooms formerly used by Dr. [name omitted], opened by local business men to provide comfortable space for women patrons.

Lima, Oct 28. A westbound Wabash train and a fast freight collided near Lafayette in heavy fog. both engines damaged but crews unharmed. Passengers shaken but uninjured.
A circular from the Missouri World's Fair Commission urges every county to send an exhibit of farm products to the upcoming fair. It asks farmers to preserve samples of wheat corn potatoes beans grasses and fruits and to coordinate with Colonel G W Waters and local institutes for storage display and credit to producers.
Miss Gertrude Maltby entertained a Saturday night card party. Prizes went to Miss Shreve and Mr. Will Glass. Rev. Dr. C. C. Calhoun preached to Centennial lodge No. 59 F. A. M. at the Methodist church in North Sedalia yesterday.
A dispatch from California reports the sudden death of H. Carr Stephenson in Wynne Arkansas on Saturday. Formerly of California, he had been an assistant claim agent for the St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern railroad with headquarters at Little Rock for the past two years. He was 44 years old.
