Fire erupts at the official residence of Missouri’s chief executive as electric wires ignite a blaze. Governor Folk directs response crews and surveys damage to the home complex. No injuries reported, investigation into cause begins.
Fire caused two thousand dollars in damage to the governor Folk mansion early this morning. Inmates were unharmed as guests and the governor’s party attempted to call the fire department but failed to reach it, and a Madison house alarm was later sent in. Defective wiring is blamed for the blaze.
At a Sedalia Ministers Alliance meeting Rev J M Rudy read an evangelism paper and a discussion on installing street signs at intersections to guide visitors. Resolutions praised Rev A D Johnston's departure, expressed appreciation for his service, and congratulated his new charge. Lincoln Ellis and A B Appleby signed.

John L. Murphy, who fell at the Sturges Lumber yard a week ago, shows continued improvement and moved his left arm today for the first time. Doctors expect he may be discharged this week if recovery continues.

Former congressman Jerry Simpson died in Wichita Kansas at St. Francis hospital at 6 05 this morning from an aneurysm of the aorta. He longtime lived in the city and his funeral will be under the Scottish Rite Masonic consistory. He was a member of the blue lodge at Medicine Lodge.
