Sedalia city council considers suing the Electric and Railway Co. to forfeit its charter amid power failures and broken contracts. Aldermen debate street repairs, lighting bids, cemetery land use, and a proposed telephone franchise with about 300 residents petitioning.
Col A L Strang promoter of the North and South railroad arrives from Chicago and says no new developments, but a party of New York capitalists will visit soon to review the route. He remains confident the road will be built.
Central College football lost 16 to 0 at Warrensburg to the Normal team. The Central players showed poor teamwork and weak line play while Warrensburg relied on old style line bucking for most gains.
Charles Dowd and his brother from Puzzler Colorado traveled to Lamonte Missouri to try Rev A H Smith Madstone on a bite by a Newfoundlander dog. The stone adhered sixteen hours after twenty three hour application and needed boiling in milk to remove poison. Dowd and his companion, both miners, paid fifty dollars for the treatment and plan to explore Missouri mineral lands.

The Second Normal football team of Warrensburg had a Saturday match canceled by the high school manager. A postponed game between the Second High and Freshman teams is set for tomorrow at Liberty Park with a 4 15 kickoff to allow pupil attendance. Proceeds benefit the first team with tickets at 10 cents for adults and 5 cents for students and children.
Talk of spring election features Capt. E W Stephens once mayor and well regarded by supporters. Dr Overstreet also seeks a second term with backing. Dr W J Ferguson is urged by friends as a candidate. All are noncommittal but each could win and serve with distinction.
