Inquest Tomorrow Over W F Ousley Death

An inquest into the death of W F Ousley, killed by a Katy passenger train, will be held tomorrow at 9:00 AM. Jury members named include C C Nelson and W T Mason among others. A message from Mrs Dean Shockley requests the body be buried in Springfield Fate. The struck engine was No 288 and small bone fragments were found in its pilot.

Missouri counties swing Democratic in state election

Jefferson City reports incomplete returns show about 99 counties electing Democrats while 51 remain doubtful. It is claimed eight of the doubtful will vote Democratic, yielding 40 Democrats and 55 Republicans in the next House. The Senate should have 12 hold-over Democrats and 5 Republicans, with 15 of 17 districts expected Democratic, including Farris and Orchard.

In Lafay ette county the democratic majority for state and county tickets is 738. For congress Hamlin the democrat received 2753 votes while Peale had 2019. Redd the democrat and Temple the Republican were elected associate county judges with 1249 votes each. Joseph B. Shelby democrat was elected representative by 764 majority.

Versailles Mo November 6 Complete returns in Morgan county show the Republicans have elected the entire ticket except two offices John T Beal for county clerk and G W Hargett for treasurer as the successful Democratic candidates The Republican for supreme judge and state ticket carried the county by 91 majority and Strong Democrat for representative was defeated by the same margin.

A Sedalia area report states the new Swift plant will be much larger than initial plans. Changes from a Midwest packing merger push for a bigger facility east of Mills street near Third Street, with a lease from the M K and T and new track switches.
