An orphaned 15 year old girl Annie Gunn vanished from near Salisbury Missouri last Saturday. She cut her hair and wore men’s clothing to travel. A farm hand matched the description and she confessed she left to see the world. She was returned to relatives.
A civil suit for $100 damages over the killing of a dog brought by R L Harvey against Charles McVey ended in a hung jury after two rounds of deliberation. The panel failed to reach a verdict by Wednesday evening and again at about 11 am today.

Division Superintendent Mead Stillwell of the Missouri Pacific tested a Brooks slide valve engine on a run from here to Chamois and back to St Louis, signaling a favorable report on the engines.
Missouri Pacific announces reduced round trip fares from Kansas City to Pertle Springs near Warrensburg and to McAllister Springs near Houstonia for the summer season. Pertle Springs tickets cost 2.95 for travel any time, 2.25 for Friday or Saturday departures with Monday returns.

Mrs Jennie Gault wife of roadmaster T H Gault of the Missouri Pacific railroad died at Butler Tuesday. O A Derby and E J Ward division superintendents were in the city.
