Constables and helpers drag Flat Creek a deep hole 150 yards south of the bridge for a boy about twelve to fourteen believed drowned. A black coat and six fish lay on the bank, watched by a devoted dog that refused to leave the coat and howled all night, signs pointing to a drowning accident.
Proceedings show W. H. McDaniel et al. vs Burrill S. McDaniel partition report approved with $150 attorney fees to Sangree and Lamm. Other actions include Smoot v Kansas City motion to dismiss, Seda lia Electric Light sued dismissed by plaintiff, Day v Farley motion for new trial, Dowler divorce with desertion claim, and Jobe v Dehmey verdict for plaintiff $12.
In Beziers France on May 13 a riot broke out as 7000 people sought entry to a Barnum Bailey's show. Stoning of circus employees followed when admission exceeded capacity and five workers were hurt including a skull fracture likely to prove fatal. The crowd damaged the tent ropes.
Thousands swarmed the arena and overwhelmed police. Troops restored order as the show ended. tents were dismantled and plans made to move to Carcasonne. Similar disturbances occurred previously in Cette and Narbonne along the route.
Senator Hanna intends to push for presidential action to free E G Rathbone or grant a new trial. He has visited the White House daily and now warns that if no action by May 20 he will disclose details of General Wood's expense account, drawing in newspaper men.
A wave of burglaries in the Otterville and Clifton City area targets homes during church services. John McManus family losses include silverware and clothing, with another home on Jerry Harlan farm looted. John Harlan meat house also broken into with over 150 pounds of meat taken. A well known local figure is suspected with possible developments ahead.
The Missouri Pacific and Tron Mountain railway system will construct extensive locomotive repair works on a 16 percent acre tract at Bates street in Carondelet. The Oak Hill branch passes through the area extending to Grand avenue. Chanteau avenue shops will be moved to the new site with plans for large locomotive works.
Arlington Pharmacy offers high grade perfumes regular 50e and T5e odors at 35e per ounce on Saturday May 17.
The Missouri Kansas and Texas Railroad plans a new line between Paola Kansas and Rosedale Kansas to enter Kansas City over Santa Fe tracks. The Katy now runs from Paola to Kansas City via Frisco tracks but traffic growth necessitates a parallel route. Contracts worth 2,000,000 dollars were awarded for reconstruction on Oklahoma lines. Hospital arrivals list workers including Will Lindley and James Petty among others.
Rock Island officials and chief engineer Campbell initiated a new survey from Versailles to Green Ridge Warrensburg and Kansas City to locate a nearer route. The Colorado line survey southwest of Versailles is to be abandoned and all work west of Versailles is suspended.
Miss Mollie Schlude was struck and killed by a freight train at the Evans and Howard Brick company switch in St Louis. Engineer William Study did not see her until the alarm was raised by a Negro boy. Gus Schlude, the victim's brother, blames trainmen for carelessness.
Lyman Brown a boilermaker apprentice at the Missouri Pacific shops suffered a severe mash of the index finger on his left hand yesterday afternoon.
Gary Brass a coal heaver at the Missouri Pacific shops fell from the top of a coal chute yesterday and landed on his head causing a scalp wound. The incident prompted medical attention though the report does not list his condition or any further injuries.
A man sustained a neck sprain and was taken to Katy Hospital where his injuries were treated and monitored.
Machinists Richards and Cook from Denison Texas began work at the Missouri Pacific shops in town. Brakeman Charles Poole reported for duty after a short leave to marry. Switchman Will Drechsler and family are spending the day fishing on Cedar Creek.
Beaumont reports a flurry as brokers and editors question telegrams claiming all Spindletop wells ceased flowing. Observers say pressure is easing but only a few wells stopped. air is used to aid pumping on several hills as oil production continues.
Sedalia steam laundry named Longan's maintains high standards in fabric care and garment cleaning serving local residents with professional wash and press services.
A tired looking colored man entered the Famous clothing store this morning and leaned on a display case. The case collapsed under the weight, surprising him. Proprietor Cramer demanded payment for the damage but he paid after police persuaded him.

George T. Menefee and Sons have sold their grocery fuel and feed business at 400 West Second Street to J H Hellring of Wea Kas who is now in charge. The Menefee family is occupied with railroad contracts in the Territory and could not attend to the store.
Indianapolis May 13 The 15 year old daughter of J C Jordan is missing after three weeks truancy. Police suspect a male companion took her to Spain as letters from her claim a Spanish nobleman husband and senorita, while the girl says she and her lover plan to marry and depart.

The Sorosis met yesterday afternoon at Mrs. T. P. McCluney's home for missionary day. Topics on state history were discussed and the program was led by Mrs. John Montgomery.
