Vienna reports the emperor vows strict neutrality in the United States Spain war and hopes for a swift end. Navy and politics update discuss Germany, Cuba governance hints, and Spain's dire midwar position across Madrid and London dispatches.
Pettis county voters are notified of Democratic primary elections to nominate a county and township ticket and elect a county central committee. Polls open at usual voting places and Sedalia court house on Saturday June 11 1898, with the committee meeting Monday June 13 1898 at Sedalia City court house. Baldwin and Turrue sign as chairman and secretary.
The ad promotes cheap coal including Rich Hill Nut Lexington Whipple and other soft coal grades plus Scranton anthracite and seasoned wood. It also lists feed sewer pipe vitrified building and fire bricks with yard addresses 813 to 819 E Third Street and downtown office 225 Ohio and phone 43.

Questions to the pastor were asked by Mr. Cain of Broadway Presbyterian, who also spoke. The charge to the congregation followed. Rev. Corneilson of Nevada could not attend due to a delayed train. Sedalia Royal Arch Chapter No. 18 will hold regular convocation Thursday evening April 22 1898 at 7 30 visiting companions invited. Mrs Lydia Foster aged 25 died yesterday at her uncle John Hope home southeast of Sedalia. remains shipped to Boons Iowa for interment.
