Police commissioners, following Governor Folk's orders, plan to shut all saloons on Sunday, prompting saloon men to threaten retaliation by enforcing historic laws to block Sunday newspapers street cars and close drug and grocery stores.
A. Jones, a popular Sedalia salesman for Hail-Kibby Dry Goods, leaves for St. Louis to join Ely-Walker Dry Goods in a advancement move. Friends regret his departure while Sentinel congratulates him on securing a lucrative western post.
A U S grand jury ordered by Judge Francis J Wing convict Cassie Chadwick on seven charges linked to the Citizens' National Bank failure at Oberlin. The late C T Beckwith and A B Spear were indicted with Chadwick for conspiracy to certify checks without funds.
