In Sedalia Missouri seven children lose their mother as forty doctors refuse or delay aid to Mrs. John O Craft who died March 13. Reportedly calls went unanswered as physicians cited excuses or were unavailable despite multiple attempts and a last minute effort by Dr Cowan arriving too late.
Sedalia camp No. 16 Woodmen of the World hosted a prize smoker at the I O O F hall with over five hundred attendees. Council Commander T J Robb welcomed guests as music, speeches, and prize drawings highlighted the event before a report on the lodge’s growth and the upcoming Tri-State convention.
Manila reports General Frederick Funston and ten scouts captured Emilio Aguinaldo in Isabella Province, Luzon, on March 23. The Vicksburg, with Funston and Aguinaldo aboard, has arrived. the scheme saw Aguinaldo’s emissaries and native scouts posing as insurgents to trap him. Funston hailed as hero of the American army.

F P Younger and Miss Nannie Gabriel of Postal Pettis county traveled to Marshall Wednesday with Edwin Aldridge and wife. A license was obtained from Recorder John Pickett, Rev J F Kemper officiated at Tom Landon’s, and the couple returned to Postal with plans to move to Saline soon.

Washington reports J Pierpont Morgan aims to transfer all iron coal and transportation interests of M A Hanna & Co to a new iron and steel syndicate. Morgan and Senator Hanna are silent on the matter though negotiations are under way with Morgan dining with Hanna after a dinner in New York and Wetmore of Rhode Island and McCall of New York meeting Hanna.
