The county court delays action until Monday while processing Rector's four year tax summary. It lists 1900 totals of real estate and personal taxes 161 595 with penalties, plus delinquencies and reductions. Decatur Ill March 27 A great stir in Y M C A circles as the city association board formally demands the resignation of S D Adkins general secretary of the railroad association.
Conductor Fred Williams, a well known railroad man from Sedalia, died at Missouri Pacific Hospital in St. Louis at 7 30 p m Tuesday after being struck on the head by a bridge beam last Friday. He was about forty and leaves a family in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held there.

The company nears full strength and will stop accepting enlistment applications after next Wednesday until fall. George R Smith post smoker at R T J hall is planned with the company marching there from the post office corner.

George Myers of Smithton was lighting a leaking gasoline lamp when it ignited. He carried the lamp to the door and threw it out to avert a major explosion. His hands were severely burned but a serious fire was prevented by his quick action.
Missouri Kansas and Texas railway executives led by President H. C. Rouse and Vice President A. A. Allen visited Fort Worth on an inspection tour of their lines. The group including C. Haile and J. W. Maxwell planned to inspect the San Antonio extension next before returning to Dallas for the April annual meeting.

Mrs. William Boullt welcomed East Broadway Christian church choir members to her home at 646 East Fifteenth. The Tuesday gathering featured games and music with refreshments. Attendees included Rev. and Mrs. F. L. Cook Dr. A. Owens and wife Mr. and Mrs. John Forbes Mrs. Raines of St. Louis Mrs. West Miss Evan Heath Earl Davids Henry Gross Mr. and Mrs. A. P. M. John McLaughlin received a letter from St. Louis upholsterer William Prufrock stating sixteen warrants were issued for Jessie Major's arrest. Major, who used the alias John McLaughlin, represented himself to Prufrock as a resident of this city.
I J Culler has moved his stable from Tipton to Sedalia and quartered at the Barrett place west of the city for care and training of fine horses.

One of the city's oldest colored residents and former slave of Col Houston died at Florence Jackson's home on West Pacific street in his 84th year. He recalled being shot in the breast during the war and carrying the ball in his bosom until it finally reached a vital spot this morning as he rose to leave and fell dead by his bed. Coroner McCluney was summoned but deemed no services necessary.

Misses Mattie and Charlotte Edmonson, longtime residents, departed this morning for Nevada where they will reside. Their father Professor James Edmonson is affiliated with the Weltmer Magnetic Institute in the state.
A wagon drawn by a team belonging to D. Blocher ran away this morning from Grand avenue, moving east on Fourth to Vermont. The horses were stopped without damage and no one was hurt.
