Negro lynching reported in La Junta mob violence
An Associated Press special from La Junta Colorado says a black sleeping car porter named W H Wallace was hanged by an enraged mob and shot. Wallace, said to be from Sedalia Missouri, had connections to the Katy depot as janitor and porter. A prior conviction for attempted assault near Prospect school is noted.
