Barber shop boiler explosion rocks Galena Kansas
In Galena Kansas on March 25 a hot water boiler weighing 250 pounds exploded in the IXL barber shop. The boiler shot through the ceiling and roof, landed on a vacant lot after passing over a two story brick building. Proprietor William Chandler was knocked down and glass shattered. The blast remains a mystery as the boiler reportedly held its normal water load.
