Three Missourians spoke on the Cannon fifty million bill yesterday. Congressman Dockery Bland and Cochran urged readiness for war while stressing restraint and trust in the President and the American people. They argued a swift, victorious decision if war comes and emphasized unity beyond party lines.
The speaker asserts the treasury can provide the necessary funds without taxes. He expresses relief that if war is necessary, the nation can fight without indebting the people to international money lenders.
Major Charles Miles of St Louis, commander of the Midland Division, will conduct a monster meeting in the criminal court room of the courthouse on Friday night March 11. He will recruit local corps members and discuss the social works of the Salvation Army and Commander Booth Tucker's Farm Colony in the West. Meeting begins at 8 o clock.
In Caldwell County Missouri George Hartpence wins $5,250 against George G Rodgers for alienating his wife's affections. Rodgers, a wealthy landowner, pursued the wife after she moved in with her in laws, offered gifts including a diamond ring, urged divorce, and proposed a Dakota elopement under a brother sister ruse. The couple separated in January 1893 and the court’s finding upholds the verdict.
GW Beach who had been jailed for fifteen days after being arrested for jumping a board bill was released this morning.

Speaker Reed and Rep Boutelle joined in supporting the bill, crossing party lines as Republicans Democrats and Populists backed the administration in demanding reparations from Spain for the Maine tragedy. Two isolated eruptions of hissing occurred before a solid bipartisan record.

W. W. Allen of the city sold to the proprietor of Kendall stock farm in Valley Falls Kansas today three of his fine horses. One of them Woodford Jay posted a record of 2.10. The price paid was 1225 dollars.
The seven months old son of Mr and Mrs John Bonker died last evening from pneumonia. The funeral will be conducted from the house tomorrow afternoon.
Richard Busch a cornetist with the Second Regiment band died of pneumonia at his Sedalia home at 4 am. He leaves a young wife. Funeral is set for 2 pm tomorrow at Trinity Lutheran church with the Second Regiment band and Sedalia Rifles in attendance. Rev J F Seibert to preside.

Prof G C Swallow of Columbia Mo informs Sedalia geologist R A Blair of Maj F Hawn’s death in Leavenworth at age 88. Hawn, who aided Missouri geology since 1858 carrying Kansas specimens, is remembered for valuable fossil and rock work. Swallow hopes to meet Blair soon for a rock hunting expedition.

Ernest Davis son of Trainmaster J A Davis of the Katy suffered a broken left arm after a fall at the new Katy shops this morning. He was taken home on East Seventh street where Katy hospital surgeons treated him. The county court continues to hear Patrick McEnroe petitioning for a dramshop license. The court also approved the monthly and criminal fee bills.
