The Sentinel announced a March 1 completion of its guessing contest with a top prize of a $50 Haviland china set won by S. H. Porter of Arlington Pharmacy. Fifteen other prizes included subscriptions to The Daily Sentinel and The Semi-Weekly, plus two novels, with a long list of runner-up guesses and recipients. A separate note covers a St. Louis area stock company event and a Sedalia horse theft recovery.
In February at Elite Bowling hall Ten pins top list shows C. E. Baker first with 211 and 205 while G. J. Worley scores 207. Cocked hat sees Theodore Creutzel first with 52 and Harold Inge second with 48. Week ending Feb 25 lists Paul Tredway 217 first and C. E. Baker 211 second with T. J. Worley 207 third. Cocked hat leaders are C. L. Maggard 53, Creutzel 52, Inge 48.

Two young men duck hunting near Flat Creek reservoir face a close call. Gus Blatterman of 2600 South Kentucky suffers a severe hand injury when a muzzle loading shotgun explodes, tearing the thumb. he is treated in Sedalia by Dr. Will Shirk. Fred Shack stood nearby as the blast occurred. The gun and barrels are damaged, and Blatterman’s hand is numb. The incident is followed by unrelated notes on a New York stage production and a local drug ad.
Pearl Shoemaker has been appointed to manage the elevator bay for the Ilgenfritz building, signaling a new operational role in the facility.

Funeral will be Wednesday at Calvary Episcopal Church at 10 30 conducted by Rev J S Moody with pallbearers named Chas E Messeriy W F Hansberger A P Morey B W Zimmerman Dr Abel and Edelgenfritz.
