The Twentieth Century Limited, touted as the speedy Chicago to New York service, derailed after striking an open switch at seventy miles per hour, collapsing into ruins and killing passengers. Investigators probe the cause as relief trains aid survivors and emergency crews secure the scene.
The June 22 crash near Mentor Ohio of the Twentieth Century Limited at speed caused a massive fire and ruin. Nineteen people died and many more injured as the train plowed into a freight house after an open switch. Officials probe possible malicious interference as cause.
Independence Kansas reports 23 alleged jointists arrested in Coffeyville last night. They were brought to Independence and released on 800 bond each for district court trial. All county joints closed except buying from independents. Kansas City dispatch notes city buys oil for city hall boiler, 60 cents a barrel, seven cents below Standard price.

The groom works with his father Richard Olmsted on East Third street and the bride, formerly a Central Business College student, has many friends here awaiting her arrival.

Clarence Jones driver of a transfer wagon and son of ex Alderman W L Jones left the city Wednesday without telling his destination. He left his wagon and team on the street and relatives are seeking him. It is believed he went to Kansas City.
Charles T. Kelsey a farmer from nine miles northeast of Sedalia and Miss Doxia C Embree of Beaman were married yesterday afternoon at 5 oclock by Rev S Bucchner pastor of the German M E church in a brief ceremony.
