Jefferson City Feb 27. Mr Locker reports a reapportionment bill showing eight Democratic plurality districts in Missouri and one Republican leaning Tenth district in St Louis. The plan assigns wards across Saint Louis to form the ten districts with stated population and party margins.
Mr and Mrs Jere Moberly hosted about forty guests at 5149 Kensington Ave in St Louis for Miss Bessie Babcock of Sedalia who has spent weeks in the city. The home featured pink flowers and a dining room centerpiece of carnations as light refreshments were served. Mrs Moberly wore black dotted mousseline and Nass Babcock wore pale blue peau de soie. Guests included the Thomas sisters and several local couples. Mrs Moberly plans a large card party within two weeks.
Jefferson City Mo Feb 27 The senate ordered engrossed a bill regulating medical practice and requiring examination for those who can legally treat for pecuniary compensation. The measure mirrors the house engrossment of the same bill aimed at Christian scientists and magnetic healers.
Col A W Rogers 76 longtime Johnson County attorney collapsed at home in Warrensburg Missouri after eating supper. Civil War veteran and former prosecuting attorney for Johnson County, he moved to the city in 1865 and was among its longest serving lawyers.

Detective Green of the Chicago and Alton company arrested Marion Aspold, an inmate of the poor farm, on a charge of attempting to wreck a passenger train near Marshall Missouri by placing fish plates and small railroad iron on the track.
The notices require all bids on the $50 dish set to be in by 9 o'clock Thursday night February 28. The sale is overseen by local authorities and invites competitive offers.

The Sentinel corrects a typographical error from Sunday asserting a station agent was involved in a brewing scandal. The intended reference was to a tombstone agent in that town. The station agent is a gentle man who attends to his own business and is not connected with the trouble.
R A Stephens of Warsaw traveled last evening toward Bunceton and Boonville to handle business related to final settlement of his father W H Stephens estate.
A February Friday night at Sunnyside school house featured readings and dialogues by local scholars and a well received play titled His Lordship. Cast included Bertha Norton Lauretta Slagle Marie Hawk and others with music by the Sedalia C M A fraternity quartet.
The Nautilus club met this afternoon and presented two programs, including the postponed Art Loan exhibition. Mrs. George Edmonson gave the financial report, and a new batch of pictures from Chicago arrived for public schools, to be framed at C. E. West's workshop.
The Ladies' Musical club met this morning to discuss Mendelssohn as part of a program on his life and works. Miss Jessie Smith led with a Mendelssohn paper, followed by violin and vocal solos, piano pieces, a duet, an anecdote, and a quintet performance marking the close of Mendelssohn studies.
Lowell Hoffman and Henry Smith of Lincoln Bentom County sparred over a girl. Hoffman, angered, posted an obscene letter from Stockton to Smith. Postoffice Inspector A D Benson pursued the case, Hoffman admitted guilt, and was bound over for federal court trial in Clinton by Deputy Marshal McKenna. Hoffman's father serves as Lincoln marshal.
The Morey Stock Company performs a week long repertory at Wood's Opera House starting Monday March 4. Each play is by Clarence Bennett with original costuming and scenery, plus vaudeville between acts. Tickets 10 20 and 50 cents. Season pass $1.50. One free lady admission Monday if paired with a paid 30 cent ticket bought before 6 pm. Seats on sale at Wood's pharmacy.
The handsome new residence of Thomas Connor nine miles north of Sedalia opened with a housewarming Tuesday evening. About thirty five couples attended and enjoyed music games conversation and dancing.
