Federal Judge McPherson denies injunction to halt Pettis county replevin action over McFarlan Carriage Co. property held by the state court for adjudication. He cites 1867 statutes and notes title passes at adjudication, preventing debtor action elsewhere. Jefferson City Tribune quoted.
Last evening's Kansas City Star reports the Missouri Valley baseball league formed last week at Nevada is thriving with strong prospects for eight clubs. Coffeyville owner F T Kercheval applied for a league franchise, Joplin Sedalia and Nevada clubs announce boom, and local players seek jobs. Baseball figures Crowded town optimism from Charlie Nichols and others signals a robust start.
State fair secretary Rippey works with trainer Mr. Swaggard of Sweet Springs to train fifteen race horses on the fair grounds track next season, arriving mid March. U S Marshal Hackett and deputies left McAlester Oklahoma for Atlanta Georgia with fifteen prisoners sentenced at Atoka. Included are three train robbers of the Caney Kansas City Missouri gang who held up the Missouri Kansas & Texas train last summer. This marks the first arrival of Indian Territory inmates at the Atlanta penitentiary.
Warrensburg Star reports Missouri Pacific officials J. B. West and Ed L. Rosson arrived from Sedalia and faced a sheriff inquiry. They waived preliminary hearing Monday and posted bonds of 500 dollars each, with bondsmen H. F. Clark and J. D. Eads.
