Cole Younger called a report that Frank James would portray him in a play "Younger Boys, Bandits" untrue. He said Frank is a friend and would not perform it, and that he has top lawyers prepared to stop any such production.
Severe fuel shortages halted business in St Louis courthouses with seven circuit courts probate court and the court of appeals adjourned. The city hospital faced fuel scarcity though aid was expected. Thermometer marked six degrees below zero. In Kansas City the morning reached nine degrees below zero, the coldest in three years.
New York reports six inches of snow and knee deep drifts after a night of high winds. The blizzard cuts telegraph service and disrupts trains across the region. Columbus Ohio records six to eight inches and subzero temps as rail schedules vanish. Boston endures ten inches as the blizzard rages.
New Haven report notes Connecticut is covered by a foot of snow on February 17 with widespread disruption and slow travel across cities including New Haven as a major winter storm impacts the state.

Constable Conner raided a Main street gambling den last night and arrested Er nest Sims and Gus Oteling. He seeks the elusive Red Larimore. Sims and Oteling were fined $25 each and jailed five days by Justice Berry.
Joplin Missouri is described as one of the heaviest losers in the St. Louis turf gambling scene. The mining district cities including Joplin contributed about $75 000.

Water pipes in Leopold Lovinger's West Sixth Street home burst this morning flooding the house and cellar. Lovinger searched for a plumber as the situation unfolded.
