Jefferson City Missouri February 1 Joseph Rice of Moberly preserves possession as Missouri Supreme Court grants writ of ouster ending Joseph Flory bid for railroad and warehouse commissioner. Rail traffic suspended by a weakened bridge prompts temporary wagon transport until repairs finish.
Robert S. Bonner, 23, a popular telegraph operator in Sedalia, died at 2:30 this morning at his home 421 East Third Street after a long illness with consumption. He recently returned from Albuquerque seeking relief. Rev. Father Healy gave extreme unction. Funeral at the Catholic church Sunday with Father Healy officiating.
Sale of seats for the Grand Opera Monday night progressed rapidly with a splendid audience expected. The International Grand Opera company, a sterling touring organization, offers Verdi Il Trovatore first and fourth acts and Flotons Martha second act to delighted crowds.
The falsework of the Atchison bridge over the Missouri River has failed, preventing trains from crossing. Officials reported the bridge weakened and trains halted at Atchison Kansas on February 1.
During the Schnabel versus Thomas trial in Ionia Judge Kinsey refused to certify the land title records to the circuit court. Attorneys Beate Wheeler and Chatham filed mandamus proceedings. Circuit Judge George W. Longan ruled no land title was involved in chambers today.

At a Thursday meeting eighteen candidates were initiated. The drill team was reorganized and officers elected Captain T. C. Holland First lieutenant J. L. Lensinger Second lieutenant J. W. Brown. A ball committee was chosen for February 14. About twenty five more applications for membership. Next meeting set for Monday night.
The Rev. R. L. Shepherd will teach the Sabbath lesson on children for the Primary and Junior Sabbath School Teachers union tomorrow afternoon. Other topics for teachers will be discussed. The union meets promptly at 3 o clock in the Music college hall. A cordial welcome to all interested.
Miss Gertrude Brandt hosted the D. O. T. T. C. club at 416 West Fifth. Crokinole was the main game with Miss Carrie David taking first prize and Miss Louise Werner earning the booby.
Dr. S. K. Crawford accompanied Dr. Walker to Lamonte to examine Joe Dump, a late Spanish American War veteran, as he plans to apply for a pension.
A pleasant surprise last night honored Rev. J. C. Jacoby pastor of Trinity Lutheran church. The gathering featured various amusements and attendees presented donations to the pastor.
Max Dorch a Kansas City tailor sues for ten thousand dollars claiming injuries from an initiation ceremony in the Midland camp of the Modern Woodmen of America. The case is before Judge Gate.
A local amateur company will stage Miriam's Crime on Monday February 18 at Sacred Heart hall for Sacred Heart church. Specialties by William Miller John Solon and M J Seethaler. Cast includes Huffin the lawyer M J Seethaler jr Bernard Reynolds Jos A Dickman Jr Biles Scumley Daniel Miriam West Miss Louise Friemel Mrs Raby and Miss Mary Sorsbach.
A meeting of mine operators in the Missouri Kansas district in Joplin Missouri discussed zinc ore prices and decided to close mines for four weeks with about 60 percent agreeing. Thousands of tons of ore are in bins and will be sold when prices improve.
