The Sedalia school board met in regular session at the high school and decided to open Sedalia public schools for 1902-03 on Monday September 15. Miss Montgomery was appointed principal of Summit school and Miss Belle Steele principal of Southeast school. East Sedalia primary at Fifth and Wagner is discontinued and merged into Summit. Miss Allie Hunicke joins Summit, with Miss Jakeman Jennie Norton Miss Wells and Mrs Clark filling vacancies. Substitutes Edna Burrowes and Kate Frazier named.

Surgeon Removes Two Inch Fish Bone From Gardener
Dr W Fergussion assisted by his father removed a two inch fish bone from Mr H J Dehmey’s body after it traveled the length of his system. Dehmey had felt a stinging sensation for weeks then drove to town with a wagon of vegetables before undergoing the operation.
