The school board meets at 5 PM to consider reissuing about $30 000 in bonds at lower interest and redeeming annual amounts, plus a separate $20 000 of 6 percent bonds needing a voter approved election. If sold, the plan could speedily reduce overall indebtedness.
The Sedalia Street Car company has ordered a new generator from General Electric in Schenectady New York. The unit is expected to arrive here soon along with six dozen rustic seats and other attractions for Forest Park as manager Van Riper negotiates.
Kansas City dispatch reports the Pittsburg & Gulf receivers, newly appointed, withdrew this morning leaving the case to the federal court. A new receivership is to be named this evening. Local rail news notes the Katy Flyers event next Sunday and includes hospital arrivals.
The Katy Flyer will start south bound service on April 30 stopping at Walker. The Eldorado line adds three trains daily from the 30th but operates two on Sundays. Expressmen reassigned with Miller and McLachlan to St Louis Holman to Denison Modie moves to road and Kruse and Rogers receive new posts.
John Smith head cutter at J. G. Kehl's meat stall at the market house will travel to Buneceton tomorrow to inspect his shop that was stolen months ago. He had a thriving business but found the shop missing items when he opened it one morning and has since learned it has returned.
Nevada Missouri April 27 The Vernon county grand jury returned two indictments for embezzlement revealing allegations against unnamed defendants in a local matter.

Two indictments allege Frank A. Parker misappropriated 28000 dollars of county revenue and embezzled 10000 dollars of school funds. Authorities pursue restitution and criminal penalties in the case.
Democracy members met Wednesday and nominated on the first ballot Dr J D Todd of Richards for state representative to succeed the late J Ellis. The election will be Saturday.

A class of ten graduates from the George R. Smith College preparatory department will enter the freshman class of the regular course. The event features commencement speaker Dr. W. H. W. Rees of Cincinnati and a student medal contest won by Miss Estella Martin. The college reports 180 students, equal gender split, and plans for an industrial-arts program.
A traveling man brings news from St Louis about Sedalia figures George Ferrell and Charles Streit. Ferrell, Boonville’s former hopeful, is said to be in ragged condition near collapse after recent troubles. Streit, once a city leader, is likewise reported to have fallen on hard times linked to gambling.
A large crowd met at the Sicher hotel to back a city street fair. A committee led by W H Powell Jr will seek special concessions from the council, with a mass Ellis hall meeting Saturday and a flower parade feature to attract attendees.
W B Stafford an engineer on the Missouri Kansas and Texas railway was killed at Oaktaha when another engine backed into his undercarriage. His legs were severed and he died instantly. The body was moved to Denison Texas for burial.
