Detailed dispatches from Doornbalt Farm on March 31 reveal British losses of three officers and 24 men killed, 16 officers and 121 men wounded, while Boer casualties reach 137. A 2000-strong Boer assault tested Canadian and British positions as they dug trenches and repelled repeated attacks.
J L Edwards a young city mechanic had a charmed life after a 22 foot fall at the Sedalia ice plant injuring him but not fatally. He later fell four feet breaking four ribs and remains sore though he claims unmatched balance and walking a tow line as high as a solid floor.

Dr A W Davis formerly pastor of the Christian church of Warrensburg has graduated from Kansas City Medical College head of his class receiving a $100 prize. He is appointed assistant to two surgeons at St Joseph hospital in Kansas City one specializing in eye diseases and the other in skin diseases. He left the ministry because his voice gave way and chose medicine as his life work.
Paul Harrison, a printer and recent husband of Mary Clark of Warrensburg, is elected treasurer of the Lawton City Oklahoma school board. The position offers a good salary.
