A 10 year old, Edward Bevery, died trying to rescue his mother when a coal oil can exploded as she lit a fire at their home 1763 West 57th st. The mother died later and 8 year old Marvin is dying from burns. Ole Bevery was burned while rescuing Leslie 5 Mildred 3 and a 10 month old baby. Firemen collected money for the family.
At a Monday meeting of school directors plans were set to avoid protesting the single tax issue. The Seattle school board acknowledges the state board has decided the subject, and will not file a formal protest, effectively stepping back from the dispute.
Delegates at the progressive county convention discussed former Mayor Dilling and C E B Riddell for state senate and chose Erven H Palmer as acting county chairman.
