Highwayman Foiled by Quick Escape Near Great Northern Depot
Duane, near Fifteenth Avenue West, fled when a light built thief demanded surrender. He identified the assailant later as a slender man in a light suit seen around the depot. Duane reported the robbery to police sergeant Charlies L. Janke after the incident at the People's saloon. A companion, who slept through the event, reported losses of $23 and a watch.
