Two pitchfork tines were driven into David Sherwood's scalp during a quarrel with Henry Adams, harvest hands, over a trifling matter. Adams jabbed with the fork and, when he pulled, steel remained embedded in Sherwood's scalp. Sherwood removed the tines and threw them at Adams as Adams used the fork handle to strike him. Adams was arrested.
Pendleton Oregon Sept 10 George Elliott aged 15 arrested here for allegedly stealing three horses from a stockman in John Day County. The boy was found with the animals in his possession.
