Dreyfus has been found guilty and condemned to ten years in a fortress. A majority of the judges opposed the verdict. Berlin reports rumor that Count Muenster, the German ambassador to France, will refuse to return to Paris.
In Rennes on September 9 1906 Dreyfus faced a packed courtroom as Demange defended him arguing lack of proof while exposing bordereau misinterpretations. The court sentenced him to prison on Devil's Island with swift public reaction and nationwide outrage in Washington D C.

John Magerty sues Beattle Gas & Electric Light Co for 15000 damages after a March 4 explosion. He was injured while preventing a pipe from clogging with coal tar when the blast released gas, hot water, steam and tar. He fell 22 feet from a platform, breaking his right shoulder, injuring his back and cutting his head. He claims permanent injuries.
A Beattie bound log raft towed by the steam ship Ccarina parted its tow lines in a heavy sea and drifts off Cape Mendocino. The tug Fearless is sent to assist the Ccarina as the raft averages about three knots. The Cottage City arrives Lyon canal at nine with 650 excursionists aboard. Finns band of Victoria sponsors the 650 excursion. The tug Maggie and schooner Free Trade, loaded for San Francisco, went ashore southeast of Netard Bay, dumping 40 000 feet of lumber. The Fortevtot, at Tecoma, is libelled for wages allegedly owed to the crew.
Manila Sept 9 Gen Grant was informed the native Mayor of Imus who disappeared on Wednesday has become a general in the insurgent army. He had met American troops after the Zapata river fight and claimed Imus sent him to greet the Americans. Insurgents attacked Santa Anita Curigua and San Antonio but were repulsed. Col Bell's regiment captured a captain lieutenant and six soldiers.
Ernest M. Weyl, a cousin of Dreyfus, is staying with his wife at a city hotel in Minneapolis. He admits the relation but denies being the famed intermediary between Dreyfus and Faterhasz. Weyl says he organizes Woodmen of America lodges and has not been in France for 21 years, though he hears from his sister and expects to share important information in three weeks.
OSCROLA Mo Sept 9 Record er James Webb of St Clair county was accidentally killed by City Marshal Calvord in an incident near the town. Webb, a local resident, was reportedly taken to a nearby doctor but died from the wound. The case is under investigation by county authorities.
E D Free, Barnwell county treasurer, reports his father stole about 15574 during seven years in office. On death the son became treasurer and says the estate equals the shortage and will be used to wipe it out. London gun claim follows, noting extraordinary range tests and a shortened barrel.
A special Fortson Relief Corps meeting is set for Monday at 2:30 PM in the Armory with urgent business for all members. Alphonse Tartarssa, 49, died at Providence hospital today leaving wife Mary Tartariga of Gley Firth avenue.
