Mrs. Mina B. Davia, 67, of 1686 W 68th, swallowed carbolic acid Thursday morning and died two hours later at city hospital. Her husband, William Davia, had prepared breakfast for their 18 year old daughter. She was found on the landing after swallowing the poison.
In Oakland California Edward Newhard aged 19 confessed to attempting a back touch on Neil Harding a Century theatre beauty. He received a 60 day suspended sentence for boisterous conduct with Miss Harding calling it pretty fresh and Newhard insisting it was worth while.
A backfire spread in a driver’s tank caused a Wednesday blaze in Olympia destroying a one story frame warehouse and fifteen automobiles owned by Cooney Motor Co. The Olympia Dyster Investment company warehouse suffered the loss. Estimated damage reaches $50,000 with partial insurance coverage expected.
